Bars & Ladder

I’ve got so many photos from this year that haven’t seen the light of day (edit: this is from last year…). That’s the price you pay for shooting everything RAW. You rarely get around to processing them unless it’s all you care about. Still, I love to have that control over a photo, no matter the subject.

I have no idea where I took this (somewhere in SF) or why — I must’ve been inspired by the texture of the bars because that day I was gathering a lot of textures. Looking at it now though (I decided to convert to grayscale) I really like the juxtaposition of the bars and the vague but unmistakable shape of a ladder extending who knows where.
