Absolutely beautiful paper-quilted anatomical cross-sections by artist Lisa Nilsson, reminiscent of Yulia Brodskaya’s work.
Love everything about this.

Macoto Murayama’s first solo exhibition includes color soaked renditions of flower specimens alongside imaginative botanical diagrams, conflating the worlds of history, engineering, science, art, and digital design. (via Designboom)
Wow. Not only are these images stunning, but Murayama’s process is just incredible.
Average Font: f
This project shows what a font would look like if it consisted of all typefaces installed on my system. Every character from a to z is drawn using every single font with a low opacity. In total there are over 900 typefaces in my library. I didn’t exclude the ugly ones.

My submission to Make Your Franklin. Thanks to Geehoff for pointing out this little community art project. I just couldn’t help myself.
i REALLY wanted to contribute to this but I had problems downloading their template, I think it might have just been too big (that’s what she said).
That sucks! Maybe this will work…
Hope it helps. :)

The image is a combination of text editing and Photoshop. I inserted or replaced sections of the image with plain text of the U.S. Constitution, as well as other random substitutions concerning the ‘$’ symbol.
My goal wasn’t necessarily to redesign the bill, but to highlight the fact that currency is an abstraction far beyond our control, often working at the expense of human decency. It’s practically cliché to remark upon the influence money has on human choices, but there’s no denying the enormous impact this piece of paper has had (and continues to have) on human history. The resulting image is a representation of the bill’s effect, not only on our country and the world, but on the human psyche.
